A little reminder

Not to distract from the most important problem facing the planet earth - avenging Hillary - I thought I'd take a moment to list a few far less important problems that might marginally influence the votes of people who aren't focused on that one most important issue:

Lesser Evils:

Poverty
Third World Debt
Free Trade and Globalization
Corporate Corruption
Consumption and Consumerism
Sustainable Development
Fair Trade
Arms Control
Arms Trade
Conflicts in Africa
Energy Security
Illicit Drugs
Nuclear Proliferation
Middle East
War On Terror
Children, Conflicts & the Military
Human Rights and Justice Issues
Mainstream Media
Women's Rights
Racism
Child Rights
Rights of Indigenous People
Biodiversity
Climate Change and Global Warming
Human Population
Natural Disasters
Nature and Animal Conservation
Disease; Global Killers
AIDS Around the World

Now, let's get back to Avenging Hillary and Voting for McCain!

Having a spot of trouble diagramming that sentence...

We all know McCain is a caring, compassionate (2.00 / 3)

conservative who TRULY cares about these problems.

Re: A little reminder (2.00 / 2)

--- i've noticed that non-controversial diaries like about real stuff or issues, usually get over looked. Though I've had some issue based conversations/arguements here, (actually I can only remember 1; how sad) candidate wars (even though i thought it was over) rules all here, or so it seems.

But I cant complain much cause I suck at writing diaries, so I seldom write them.

[Im gonna try to be more proactive.]

Yeah, issue-oriented diaries (2.00 / 1)

fare better at dKos, but a lot of people won't go there. I always have several ideas for substantive diaries, but I never actually write them. Damn laziness... gets me every time.

Re: Yeah, issue-oriented diaries (2.00 / 2)

Are you claiming that sexism is not an issue? That misogymy is not an issue? That the Democratic party losing it's soul is not an issue? That disenfranchisement of jillions of Americans is not an issue?

MyDD certainly discusses issues.

the most important issues, that is!

Heh, well, we really do discuss (2.00 / 1)

certain important issues, but we rehash them too much. There are a couple of diarists who usually focus on very specific issues (including sexism), and I still enjoy those -- they're not always about Hillary.

Right now, six of the diaries on the rec list over at dKos have nothing to do with Hillary or Obama. MyDD isn't there yet. I'm not criticizing anyone for it, of course. I mean, what did I do today? I wrote a fawning "I <3 Hillary diary". I'm glad to see it on the rec list, but I know I should be making a better effort to write about other things of note.

Re: Yeah, issue-oriented diaries (2.00 / 1)

I would be glad to write them for you.

However, I reserve the right to randomly change your words, sentences, paragraphs and diaries.

Re: Yeah, issue-oriented diaries (2.00 / 1)

laziness + short attention span = nothing is gonna get done/written/cleaned/finished/whatever;

[i always figured that you have to be kinda well known to have your diary commented on dkos; i just dont even bother]

Re: A little reminder (2.00 / 1)

The marginalization of sexism as "avenging Hillary" is the latest attempt to say to Democratic women, sexism isn't important and neither are you.

Because there's nothing (2.00 / 3)

more intelligent than fighting sexism by voting for the most sexist candidate.

You know, the one who leaves his injured wife for a pretty young thang.

Re: Because there's nothing (none / 0)

Your statement would be true if the Democratic Party didn't have its own sexism issues.

You keep comparing an apple to an apple. What you keep missing and what women already know is both the apples are rotten.

If you think (2.00 / 1)

the Republicans and the Democrats are EXACTLY alike in women's issues, you're delusional, sorry. Few women are going to sit there and tell you that neither party cares about them at all.

Look, I'm heavily involved in the gay community, and they look at it like that, that both parties are bigots, but that Republicans would downright abuse them, while Democrats, at worse, would just ignore them.

But if you're going to go into this election acting like McCain and Obama are the same on women's issues and who wins doesn't matter, then I'm not even going to try to talk sense into you because you wouldn't want to hear it anyway.

Re: A little reminder (none / 0)

Sexism and the need to punish the Democraic Party by electing John McSame the President certainly trumps all those petty issues in the list. I was only trying to snarkily criticize those Americans who feel that there are other things to discuss and debate. How dare they ignore sexism and vote for a Democrat in the face of the most important issue facing the human race in the 20th Century!

If the world will not acknowledge the paramount importance of solving sexism before even considering those issues on the list, then it deserves to burm in Hell for all eternity.

I think we need to have more diaries on sexism, perhaps ONLY diaries on sexism until the Democrats GET IT.

Get it?
